The process of writing is very similar to process of creating visual art. I build up a mass of words, carve it down, cut off a chunk here and attach it there, see where the thread flows throughout the piece. I add embellishments- texture, color, personality and depth. I agitate with adjectives.
I write about artists that I know or work that intrigues or stirs my curiosity. I attempt to educate a reader on certain exhibitions or artists. I work to promote art that I believe deserves a wider audience.
Oftentimes, I find it much harder to plunge into a blank page than a fresh block of clay.
